Repel Family aerosol in a 6 1/2 ounce can. Contains 23% deet. Deet repellents offer a wide and diverse range of products. Active ingredients run from the low single digits up to 100%. An efficiency curve drawn for deet would show that the repellent effectiveness begins to drop off quickly in concentrations above 35% deet. Normal logic says that more is better, but not for deet. If a 17% product works well for 4 to 6 hours, a 35% product should work for 8 to 12 hours . . . It will not unless micro-encapsulated.
Lower percentages can be considered for pre-adolescent children but always verify this with your own physician.
We do not sell deet based repellent that exceeds 35%, there's no need to use more.
