Now available in the Military field soaking kit, 6 ounce aerosol, 6 ounce non-aerosol and the 24 ounce trigger spray. The new Field Treatment Kit in our opinion is the preferred method for treating mosquito nets. A great product that was developed for the military, still used by the military and after 15 years still has a perfect safety record. Treated mosquito nets actually reduce insect populations within dwellings. What better way to defend yourself from ticks, mosquitoes, chiggers, mites and more! Designed as a clothing and mosquito net treatment, it's the perfect delivery system. It actually bonds to the fabric, lasts for weeks and can even withstand detergent washings.
Each 6 ounce container is designed to treat two complete sets of clothing or two mosquito nets. This includes adult sized long pants, shirt and socks. Follow instructions and don't skimp. The less you apply, the less active ingredient will remain bonded to the fabric and the less protection duration you'll have. The NEW field treatment kit will treat one adult outfit and mosquito net per manufacturers directions.
Permethrin is a synthetic of a natural occurring insecticide that some flowers use for protection. Although originally available as a prescription product for treatment of head lice it's now an over-the-counter product because of its proven safety record. It's also used in agriculture, pet products and household sprays. As a repellent it is applied to clothing only where it bonds to the fabric. Clothing treatments have been in use for more than 15 years and have been proven safe and effective. Once clothing is treated, protection lasts for two weeks and through two weekly washings. Longer protection can be obtained by applying additional product. Permethrin as a repellent should not be applied to skin for two reasons: first because the labeling specifies it, and second because it does not work as a repellent on skin. All permethrin products are odorless when dry.
