Mosquito Netting and Bed Canopies

 Mosquito nets are the oldest non-chemical mosquito and fly protection product in the world. Our selection of mosquito nets and mosquito netting includes rectangular and circular mosquito net designs in many mesh sizes, dimensions and colors.    The rectangular mosquito nets are available in single, double and family sizes in mesh sizes from 156 mesh to 310 mesh plus no-see-um midge netting options.  Color options on the rectangular mosquito nets are white and military green. We stock more than 25 different mosquito nets.

The circular mosquito nets are available in twin sizes and the fits-all-size that will handle everything from a cot to a king size bed.  The mesh sizes for the circular mosquito nets are 156 through 196 mesh.  The color and design options on circular nets are white, ivory, black, red, coco brown and ruby red. with the added features of the Mombassa Jeweled Nile, Feather and Glowing Stars. 

Our decorator line is made by Mombassa and includes both functional and non-functional models.  Mosquito netting that we classify as non-functional are designs where the openings are not secure from mosquitoes or the mesh size is larger than the W.H.O. recommends.  These nets are available in many decorator colors with matching panels for extending your decorating ideas.

Mosquito, Tick & Insect Protection 

We carry a wide selection of insect repellents made by several manufacturers.  The manufacturers we represent are - Sawyer, Repel, 3M, Tender and Cutters.  Regardless of the base chemical being the same in many cases, there's a lot to be said for the special blending of these components.  The deet based mosquito, tick & insect protection products start with concentrations as low as 7% deet and go as high as 100% deet.  Some brands add special biting fly repellents to ward off black flies, gnats, no-see-ums, deer flies, greenhead flies or horse flies.   

Many of our customers have strong preferences for bug repellent of one manufacturer over the repellents of another.  That's why we offer a wide assortment of mosquito repellents, tick and fly repellents from the best known manufacturers including: Sawyer Controlled Release, 3M Ultrathon and  Ben's by Tender.  The insect repellents we offer include chemical based repellents such as deet, permethrin, picaridin and natural repellents such as lemon eucalyptus.  

Some repellents will protect you for hours; even days and others will protect you for only minutes.  As you probably know there are many products that simply don't perform as advertised so if testing shows a product to be more hype than reality we will not promote it.  We'll try to give objective facts so that you can find a product suitable for your needs!  The How Repellents Work section is a review of the various insect repellents . . .  what they'll do for you and what they won't. 

               Outdoor Protection & Industrial Safety Products

 Typically a mosquito does not move far from its birthplace so the prevention of breeding places is an effective strategy.  There are locations however where removing standing water is not possible.  In these situations, the Mosquito Dunk and Mosquito Bits products offer a wonderful alternative!  These are safe EPA registered products that will slowly dissolve in standing water and provide a lethal food for the larval mosquitoes.  As a result they the mosquitoes will never mature and never bite.

 Protective clothing offers real protection from all forms of biting insects.  The Bug-Out brand of no-see-um netting is the original product and in our opinion still the best available.  Bug Out Outdoor Wear will protect you from the fiercest biting insects without using any repellents.  This is especially important against fast attacks by the deer fly and horse fly.

Have you seen the new line of chemically treated clothing?  It costs a small fortune and the treatment lasts for about 6 months . . . the chemical is permethrin which you can purchase and apply yourself on clothing of your choosing and for significant savings. Eye protection is an important consideration in many activities.  Face shields and safety glasses are so inexpensive there's no reason not to have an ample supply available.  Just one eye injury from flying debris, snapping tree branch or fishing lure could change every remaining day of your life.  Safety glasses come in clear, sunglass and lens colors for all kinds of outdoor activities.   

First Aid kits and first aid supplies are a good investment.  It's amazing how many of us wait until we need first aid before we take it seriously.  It's not easy parting with $20 to $80 for a good first aid kit and hopefully if you do you'll never use it.  But statistics are in the first aid kits favor and again hopefully it will be waiting where needed for quick use.  Our first aid kits are available in many sizes from Sawyer and Atwater Carey.
